Welcome to the Medical Assisting program at SCCTC! A Medical Assistant is a professional, multi-skilled person dedicated to assisting in all aspects of the medical office under the direct supervision of a physician. It is a rapidly growing career and is expected to be one of the ten fastest growing career fields in the nation during the next decade. Medical Assisting is for the individual who is genuinely interested in helping others in a confidential & professional setting. Attitude, appearance and attendance is extremely important!  Trustworthiness and accuracy are a must! 

During the next two years, you will learn both clinical and clerical skills necessary to obtain employment in a medical office or other clinical setting. Some students use this course as a "stepping stone" to continue their education as a nurse, therapist, radiology technician, or even nurse practitioner or physician  You will receive great personal satisfaction from performing effective patient care.
